Joe Thomas is an independent consultant and speaker.  Prior to launching his own consulting firm, Joe worked with Franklin Covey for more than 11 years, where he presented The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,® First Things First,® and Principle-Centered Leadership® workshops to both large and small corporations.

Before joining Franklin Covey, he was the National Director of Sales for JD West. Joe has also been an entrepreneur and has owned and owns several successful small businesses. He authored Franklin Covey’s Power of Understanding communication program. As one of the top presenters at Franklin Covey, Joe has consulted with and taught workshops to some of the top corporations in the world including: Pillsbury, AT&T, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Merck and many more. His fast-paced, personable, and literate style makes him a sought-after, effective presenter and group leader. Joe trains thousands of people every year.

Joe is currently owner of JLT Enterprises, a holding company that manufactures machinery for the lube & oil industry and parts for various cleaning and tool companies. Because of this, he has consulted extensively with manufacturing companies including Ford, General Motors, Daimler-Chrysler, Subaru-Isuzu, Steelecase, Shea Homes, Ensign-Bickford, and Gerry Baby Products.

Joe has helped numerous companies directly in the manufacture of their products by suggesting or assisting them with system changes and design.  He has worked extensively developing teams and has trained personnel in the areas of leadership, communications, time management, conflict resolution, sales, negotiation and quality.  He has traveled abroad extensively. He lived in Brazil for more than a year.
