Rye is Principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a Washington, D.C.-based political advocacy, social impact, and racial equity firm. Her work brings together government, corporations, civil and human rights organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to build strategic partnerships and advance meaningful change. With more than 15 years of experience in political strategy and social responsibility, Rye has worked across municipal, state, and federal government and has developed award-winning strategic partnerships involving some of the nation’s most prominent civil and human rights organizations. Her experience at the intersection of advocacy, business, government, and culture gives her a distinctive perspective on how leaders and organizations can move beyond conversation and translate purpose into action.

Leadership on Capitol Hill

Before becoming one of the country’s most recognizable political and social commentators, Rye developed extensive experience on Capitol Hill. She served as Executive Director and General Counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus during the 112th Congress, helping develop the Caucus’s overall legislative and political strategy. Prior to joining the Congressional Black Caucus, Rye spent four years as Senior Policy Advisor and Counsel to the House Committee on Homeland Security. Her government experience gave her an insider’s understanding of the legislative process, public policy, coalition building, political strategy, and the ways government decisions affect businesses and communities. Rye also co-founded IMPACT, an organization created to encourage young professionals through economic empowerment, civic engagement, and political involvement.
