President & Former Miami Heat Coach
The current President and former Head Coach of the Miami Heat, Pat Riley is a 2008 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, a seven-time National Basketball Association World Champion, as well as the only Head Coach in NBA history to capture Coach of the Year honors with three different teams: the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks, and the Miami Heat.
NBA Champion
Riley most recently won the 2012 and 2013 NBA championships with the Miami Heat as their team president. He is the first (and so far only) North American sports figure to win a championship as a player, coach (both assistant and head), and executive. He received the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award from the NBA Coaches Association on June 20, 2012.
In his 11th season with Miami Heat, President Pat Riley returned to the bench as Heat head coach in December 2005 after more than two years away from the sidelines. He then went on to win the 2006 NBA Championship.
As the Miami Heat, President, Riley maintains a standard of excellence within the franchise, both on and off the court, that has allowed the team to maintain its status as one of the most consistent and most successful in the NBA. Philanthropic Efforts
Along with his wife, Chris, Riley has also been involved with numerous charity and community service projects throughout his coaching career, including Miami Heat Family Outreach, Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Boys and Girls Clubs of America. As a result of his efforts, Riley has received many prestigious awards, including the Miami Project Sports Legend Award in 1992, Boys and Girls Clubs Miami Person of the Year Award in 1998, and was honored by the YMCA Miami in 1998.
