Maye is an active speaker, spokesperson, author, and counselor based in New York City. She has worked as a trusted nutrition expert with numerous corporations, associations and universities all over the world.
Maye’s dynamic career has spanned forty years and 8 cities in 3 countries. She has worked with numerous corporations, associations and universities all over the world. She speaks fluent Afrikaans (Dutch/Flemish) and can converse in French and German. In 2006, Maye was awarded the Outstanding Nutrition Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the American Dietetic Association’s annual conference.
Her book, Feel Fantastic, is a complete encyclopedia of good health habits, empowering readers to live their best life every day. It was featured on one million Special K cereal boxes throughout Canada. Maye’s most recent book, A Woman Makes a Plan: Advice for a Lifetime of Adventure, Beauty, and Success, is full of insight as well as a good dose of humor, offering readers a lifetime of hard-won advice.
Through her entertaining and humorous presentations, Maye helps her audiences with strategies to become healthier, increase their energy level and maintain good health. To compliment her career in dietetics, Maye has been a professional model for over 50 years. At age 69, Maye was made the oldest CoverGirl spokeswoman in 2017.
At age 74, Maye became the oldest model to ever grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2022.
Maye is an Ambassador for two non-profits that fit into her two careers: Big Green, building vegetable and fruit gardens in under-served schools; and Dress for Success, a global not-for-profit organization that has helped more than one million women achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, a variety of personal and professional development programs and work attire.
She is the mother of Elon, Kimbal and Tosca, and has 10 grandchildren.
