Beauty Expert & Makeup Host of TLC’s What Not to Wear

As the make-up artist on TLC’s #1 show, What Not To Wear, Carmindy has re-defined beauty for everyday women. She’s the co-creator of a natural line of cosmetics called “Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy,” and the author of Crazy Busy Beautiful: Beauty Secrets for Getting Gorgeous Fast, The 5-Minute Face: The Quick & Easy Makeup Guide for Every Woman, and Get Positively Beautiful. Her work can also be seen in the editorial pages of leading magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Elle, InStyle, O, Essence, Self, Lucky, Glamour, Seventeen, and Marie Claire. The only makeup artist featured regularly on television, Carmindy is a sought after keynote speaker about beauty and self esteem, the empowerment of women through uniqueness, and her own self-made success story.

In her talks Carmindy provides audiences with hundreds of tried-and-true beauty secrets to allow women to make themselves over for less than $20. More importantly, she teaches women that before they put on one dab of make up, they need to find the beauty within and embrace their uniqueness, rather than run away from it.

Carmindy believes that the key to a great look is learning how to enhance your best features with sheer washes of color rather than hiding under layers of artificial-looking makeup. Carmindy provides her beauty philosophy, offering a practical, easy, and always-successful makeup routine that works for all ages and skin types and shows how finding your own beauty is liberating and empowering.

In addition to her television, magazine, and speaking work, Carmindy’s commercial clients include Maybelline, Sephora, Clairol, Avon, Aveeno, CoverGirl, Almay, Bath and Body Works, Sally Hansen, Crest Whitestrips, Q-tips, and CIBA. Carmindy is always looking for the next great way to communicate with her fans. Carmindy recently teamed with Glowelle as the spokesperson for its drinkable beauty supplement created by Nestlé. She and Glowelle also joined forces for the Beautiful Choices Movement, a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club that kicks off this fall. The yearlong, educational effort is designed to empower and inspire women and young girls to share the beautiful choices they make every day. The effort will focus on girls’ self-esteem and encourage them to live healthy lives through mentors, the development of practical skills, and fitness and nutrition education.

Since her Southern California childhood, Carmindy has dreamed of traveling the world doing makeup and meeting inspiring people. Through hard work and an unstoppable attitude, she’s made that dream a reality. She’s painted faces in the studios of Paris, on the beaches of Brazil, and on the streets of Havana. She’s lived in Los Angeles, Milan, Miami, and now makes her home in New York City, where she has established herself as a top fashion makeup artist.
