CBS Sports Golf Analyst, Author, and
Retired Professional Golfer
Bobby Clampett is a television golf analyst, golf course architect, writer, and professional golfer, who played on the PGA Tour from 1980 to 1995. Mr. Clampett currently works with CBS Sports (since 91, full-time since 95) as a member of their golf broadcasting team having commentated in over 300 PGA Tour Events and in over 50 Major Championships.
Broadcasting with CBS
Bobby Clampett joined CBS Sports in 1991 as a course reporter for their broadcast of the PGA Championship. After retiring from his career as a professional golfer in 1995, Clampett was excited to accept a full-time position with CBS. He now works as a golf analyst at approximately 10 events per year and has become a respected member of the CBS Sports Golf Broadcast Team.

A bit of a Renaissance Man, Bobby has discovered another new passion a bit more down to earth: as a winemaker. Clampett Cellars announced its first two wines varietals, both red blends, in 2010, added three more, and will be announcing more new wines later in 2016.
PGA Career
Clampett is a current participant on the Champion’s Tour where he has compiled 7 top 5 finishes and recently surpassed $1,270,000 in Champion’s Tour earnings and is life-time member of the PGA Tour having earned over $2.7 million over a 18 year full-time career. He finished 45th on the Champion’s Tour money-list in his rookie season in 2010, 57th in 2011 and 39th in 2012, and 52nd in 2013.
Early Golf Career
Clampett was born in Monterey, California. He attended Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. He based his early golf training on the groundbreaking and controversial book “The Golfing Machine,” by Homer Kelley, with whom he worked closely. From 1978 to 1980, he was a three-time All-American and two-time Collegiate Golfer of the Year at Brigham Young University. His important amateur titles included the Porter Cup, the Sunnehanna Amateur, and the Western Amateur. He also won the 1978 World Amateur medal, in team competition for the Eisenhower Trophy and the 1978 and 1980 California State Amateurs. He was the low amateur at the 1978 U.S. Open and 1979 Masters.
Books and Golf Instruction
With Andy Brumer, Clampett is the author of The Impact Zone and has developed Impact-Based™ teaching to help all levels of golfers better understand how to play better golf. Impact Zone Golf now has over 100 Certified Instructors around the world and in 2013 launched their first major market product, the Impact Zone Training System (DVD). In 2013 Mr. Clampett became the First Tour Player to ever Achieve the Advanced Designation as a PGA Certified Professional and then most recently became the first tour player in history to become a Master Professional of the PGA in Instruction. In addition, Clampett is sponsored by PNC Bank.
Additional Interests
Bobby Clampett works independently as a golf course designer and author out of his Impact Zone Golf Office in Bonita Springs, Florida. He is an active pilot since 1987, having logged over 5,000 flight hours and flies a 1986 Piper Malibu. He is also active in several charity organizations within his community.

The clinic and the golf schools are based on the teachings from his recent book, The Impact Zone. The book is getting great reviews, from beginners to scratch golfers. Golf Digest featured an 8 page spread on Bobby in the Nov, 2007 issue. In January, 2008 issue listed The Impact Zone in the recommended holiday gift guide - it was the ONLY instruction book on the list. In February 2013, Golf Digest featured another 4 page instruction article on Bobby and the Impact Zone. Now the popular Impact Zone Golf DVD (launched in February 2013) is available and helping countless golfers improve their impact and thus improve their games.
