Mike Hegedus is CEO of Hegedusworld,LLC a media consulting and video production firm based in Santa Rosa, California. Previously he served as Sr. Features Correspondent for CNBC for nearly 11 years. He has been a television broadcaster for 40 years covering stories around the country and the globe. He has received numerous awards for broadcasting excellence.
CNBC Senior Feature Correspondent
In 1998, Mike began a 10-year stint with CNBC as senior feature correspondent. He traveled America and the world reporting on businesses large and small, focusing on their leaders. He has visited big cities and small towns in every state, seeking out businesses that work and the people who make them successful.
Marketing Profiles
He has profiled such iconic American brands as Martin Guitars and Necco Wafers. Mike has also reported on the marketing of the world’s biggest sporting events, including the summer and winter Olympics and Super Bowls. From 1991-96, Hegedus was Executive Producer and host of the nationally syndicated crime show Prime Suspect, based at the NBC studios in Burbank.

Mike has a solid background in sports reporting. After graduating as a member of the KTA honor society at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1971, he held the position of Sports Director and Assistant News Director at KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs until 1975.
Economics Reporter
He then moved to Buffalo, New York, where he was the Assistant Sports Director and Investigative and Economics Reporter for WGR-TV. In 1980, Mike moved to San Francisco and joined KPIX-TV as a Special Projects Correspondent. Hegedus was tapped in 1997 to be Executive Producer for News Content for Americast, a Disney-sponsored start-up in Los Angeles.
Awards
Mike has a long list of awards for his many achievements in journalism, including eight regional news and documentary Emmys, a national Emmy nomination for Business and Financial Reporting (2006), a National Headliner award for Excellence in Economic and Consumer Journalism (2008), and three nominations for Colorado Sportscaster of the Year.

Mike considers himself a midwesterner, though he grew up in Europe and the Near East. He has reported on Chicago businesses frequently. His favorite Chicago story was his profile of Comiskey Park and Wrigley Field for a series he produced and hosted for KPIX-TV on the oldest ballparks in the U.S. –
