For more than 40 years, Andrés Oppenheimer has been one of the most respected voices covering international affairs, economics, and Latin America. As Latin America editor and syndicated foreign affairs columnist for The Miami Herald, his widely read column, The Oppenheimer Report, appears throughout the United States and in more than 60 newspapers worldwide. Education
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Andrés Oppenheimer studied law before moving to the United States in 1976 on a fellowship from the World Press Institute. After studying at Macalester College in Minnesota, he earned a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University in 1978. He has also received honorary doctorates from Galileo University in Guatemala, Domingo Savio University in Bolivia, and ESAN University in Peru, recognizing his lasting contributions to journalism, international affairs, and public discourse.
