John Oliver is a British-American comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and television host known for his sharp satire and investigative humor. Born April 23, 1977, in Birmingham, England, he studied English at Christ’s College, Cambridge, where he was vice president of the Footlights comedy troupe. Influenced by Monty Python, Jon Stewart, and others, Oliver became a U.S. citizen in 2019. He is married to Kate Norley, with two sons.
