Morton Kondracke Speaker Biography

As executive editor of Roll Call, Capitol Hill’s feisty, independent newspaper, Morton Kondracke has covered all phases of American politics and foreign policy as both a print Pennsylvania Avenue, a twice-weekly column on national politics, White House-Congressional relations, and domestic and foreign policy, syndicated nationally through United Features Syndicate and Newspaper Enterprise Association.

Before becoming the executive editor and columnist of Roll Call, Kondracke served as executive editor and senior editor of The New Republic from 1977-91. He was the Washington bureau chief of Newsweek, a regular panelist on This Week with David Brinkley, and a columnist for The Wall Street Journal. In addition, Kondracke received the Washington Post’s "Crystal Ball Award" in 1994 for predicting the Republican takeover of Congress.

Known to millions of Americans for his 17 years of regular appearances on The McLaughlin Group, Morton Kondracke is now co-host, along with Fred Barnes, of The Beltway Boys on FOX. He gives audiences a timely look inside Washington and the changes Election 2004 may bring.

Author of Saving Milly: Love, Politics and Parkinson’s Disease, which was turned into an inspiring TV movie, Kondracke chronicled his wife’s battle against Parkinson’s disease. Today he discusses why health care should top the national agenda while exploring the health policy issues that matter most to your audience.
